Everyone agrees that flight safety is absolutely an important thing to concern. And nobody will deny that all children have the right to play. And who will disagree with the notion that religious activities are very important for children? But what happens if the three issues get mixed up?
The airport operator is busy responding to complaints by pilots and airlines. It is because now that school is out, many local residents fly their kites near the runway despite the legal prohibition. Financial compensation offered by the airport operator apparently has even become an incentive for the kite flyers to keep their kites in the air while legal action so far has not been taken.
But when the state-owned company offers reading activities for the kite flyers as an alternative, many people may find it difficult to resist the temptation to laugh. It must have been a sad day for kite lovers – mostly children- when airport officials seized hundreds or their kites. For the kids, they not only lost their kites but it might mark the end of their favorite outdoor diversion.
Now, all we need is a good strategy to approach the ordinary people to understand that what they are doing is risky and danger others. But still government or the airport operation think about the place for them to play outdoor instead play near the airport.
